Across Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia, QLD Civil Solutions provide full comprehensive transmission tower and line construction services no matter the scope of your project.
Using our selection of cranes, from truck-mounted cranes to 150 tonne cranes, the structure of the tower is assembled in sections. Each section is then bolted together.
The foundation of the tower is constructed by auguring holes with our drill rigs. After the holes are excavated and the steel reinforcement is inserted, concrete is poured into the foundation, after which construction of the structure can begin.
We clear the tower construction location of plants, trees and other obstacles to leave an even terrain. In some places, access roads to the site may need to be constructed.
The primary conductors of the transmission line structure are attached to the tower. This includes the installation of the conductor, the ground wire, insulator, stringing sheaves, vibration dampers and more. This is a complex process involving stringing the pilot line to the conductor, pulling the cable and sagging the conductors to ensure a safe tension of the transmission line. We then perform splicing and clipping of dead-end tower to any tangent towers Finally we install guard poles and guard structures for safety.
